For most men and women
hair thins gradually with age. This is a natural phenomenon
called involutional alopecia.
Hair follicles turn dormant and the hairs that are
left become thinner and sparser. Many health conditions
can also cause hair loss.
Cause of hair loss in Women
In women, thyroid disease, substantial weight loss
or gain, stress, and anemia are all problems that
may be the cause of hair loss. Pregnancy and menopause
also create hormonal changes that affect your hair,
and hair
loss in women is experienced many times after
giving birth. Scalp infections can cause hair to fall
out in clumps.
Vitamin and mineral deficiencies are another cause
of hair loss, along with chemical hair treatments
such as perms or coloring. Even blow drying your hair
or wearing a ponytail can thin out your hair.
Most hair problems are not due to a medical condition.
The single most significant factor for thinning
hair in both men and women is heredity: a genetic
condition called androgenic alopecia. For men, this
happens as a receding hairline and gradual loss of
hair at the crown, also known as male
pattern baldness.
Women experience thinning over their entire scalp,
with the most noticeable hair loss at their crown,
this is female
pattern baldness. Both men and women may see their
hair thinning as early as in their 20's, though the
loss is typically more noticeable in men. A woman's
thinning hair may not become noticeable until she
is in her 40's or older.
Abnormal or premature hair loss may be caused by:
Stress
Stress results in a high proportion of follicles to
enter the resting stage. A few months after the stressful
event, all the resting follicles begin to shed hairs.
This can cause loss of hair suddenly and unexpectedly.
Dietary imbalance or nutritional
deficiency
People who are on a low protein diet or have severe
abnormal eating habits may develop protein malnutrition.
To help save the body from losing protein the body
moves growing
hair into the resting phase. When this happens
large amount of hair loss can occur.
A sign that this problem exists is when the hair
can be easily pulled out from the roots. This condition
can be reversed and prevented by eating proper amount
of protein rich foods. It is very important to maintain
proper intake of vitamins and protein while dieting.
Any holistic hair
loss treatment should include a reasonable diet.
Chemical Use
The use of chemically strong shampoo, hair lacquers,
dyes and bleaching can contribute to hair loss. As
well, there are known drugs that cause hair loss.
Clofibrate (Atromis-S) and Gemfibrozil (Lopid), cholestero
- figthing drugs, have been know to be a cause of
hair loss.
Any hair loss product that is not natural may contain
chemicals which can cause a reaction at the scalp
and actually promote hair loss
Major surgery/chronic illness
A major operation, which can be a tremendous shock
to the system, may result in loss of hair. The condition
reverses itself within a few months. People with a
severe chronic illness may also experience hair loss,
which could continue indefinitely.
A relatively unknown fact is that hair
transplant surgery can actually cause additional
hair loss or "shock fallout". Hair lost
from shock fallout usually does not regrow.
Genetic factors
Genetic factors inherited from either parent coupled
with other variables such as age, will signal the
hair follicle to start producing an enzyme known as
5 alpha reductase. When this enzyme combines with
the testosterone already present in the hair follicle
it produces an enzyme called dihydrostestosterone,
more commonly known as DHT.
When exposed to DHT
the genetically sensitive hair follicles shrink and
weaken. New hair become shorter and thinner, the follicle
eventually dies out and stops producing new hair.
For men, this process usually marks the onset of Male
Pattern Baldness.
Infectious diseases
Infections such as ringworm can invade the hair and
skin of your scalp causing hair loss. Once infections
are treated, hair generally regrows.
Hormonal
Since hormones both stimulate hair growth and cause
hair loss, hormonal changes have the biggest impact
on hair loss. Hormonal changes can affect both men
and women.
This is the most common cause of thinning hair and
affects both men and women. Men generally have hair
loss in a specific pattern from the front to the crown
called male pattern baldness. Women tend to have thinning
hair throughout their head without any specific pattern.
This type of female hair loss is caused by DHT.
Everyone has DHT, which is produced by the body,
but only some people suffer from loss of hair. This
is because these people have hair follicles that have
a greater number of androgen receptors for the DHT
to attach to.
The DHT attaches to these receptors stunting hair
growth and eventually preventing it. To date the most
effective preventive hair loss treatments are anti
androgens drugs that prevent the creation of DHT.
Our hair loss product, Inhairit, reduces buildup on
the scalp allowing hair follicles to be replenished,
resulting in new regrowth
of hair.
Inhairit works to counteract
the effects of DHT on the scalp - the leading
cause of hair loss - and helps hair regrow.
Our DHT Blocker is non-systemic, with no side effects,
and works equally for men or women. Start your treatment
