Hair loss is a problem shared by both men and women. Although, men are more prominently affected by hair loss, women experience it as well. It is just more problematic for men because it shows immediately through in the way of a receding hairline. For women, however, hair loss happens gradually and is not concentrated in one area of the head. It does not show for women until later in life.
It is a fact that both men and women dread losing their hair. I was afraid myself until I learned what was causing me to lose hair.
Before we move to discuss how to prevent hair loss, let me tell you that it is normal for you to shed hair when you shower or brush your hair. Hair experts say that loosing 50 to 100 strands of hair every day is a normal process that your hair is going to go through. However, the problem lies when the hair that was lost is not replaced by newly grown hair.
Why am I saying this? Because the hair growth cycle mentions specifically that after growing your hair for years, it will go into a telogen or resting phase. During this time, you will loose hair and after a few months hair growth will start again.
The problem, as I have mentioned, is when the hair growth does not happen after telogen.
Another factor to consider if you are having hair loss problems is your stress level.
If you are under stress, you will be losing your hair due to the stress. If you are able to manage your stress, then hair loss will stop and the growth cycle will start again. If you keep losing your hair and do not do something about it, the problem may worsen. In this case, you need to seek help from a hair loss professional.
Please note that there are many treatments available for hair loss. There are as many treatments as there are causes. To be able to arrest the problem of losing your hair, you will need to know what is causing it thus identify the best treatment possible.
Not all hair loss problems needs surgery, transplantation, or medication. Simple stress management reverses hair loss if it is due to stress.
For hair loss due to medication, stopping the medication or changing it into a hair friendly medication may reverse the hair loss problem entirely.
Another cause of hair loss, that is easily reversible, is vitamin deficiency. Adding a little more protein in your diet and supplementing with vitamin C will help you stop losing your hair and will allow you to grow new, beautiful hair.
If in any case, the cause of your hair loss problem is not one of those easily manageable by simple acts, you may need to seek help from a hair loss expert. Remember, an early detection is always better than a late cure.
Find the right hair loss professional and you will enjoy life with beautiful and shiny hair.
